J. Bird and the Sparrowhawk, the husband and wife duo composed of Rich Hamilton and Amy Snedaker Hamilton, were kind enough to step in with only a week’s notice when the Pine Hill Boys, originally scheduled for June, were unable to play. Rich and and Amy played a wonderful array of traditional and old time songs, with a good number of originals mixed in. The audience, more than 60 in number, had a great time!
In addition to J. Bird and the Sparrowhawk, June’s open mike performers were:
David Lister (not pictured, Kindred Spirits, Jan Miller, Jack Bowes, Bruce Colegrove*, Bob E. Kelly, John & Ursula Papp, Bob Goodwin, Bernadette Colley, Christine and Wibby Swedberg, Oliver Mutch, Ken Hasselbrack, and Wendy Keith.*
* First time performers at The Meeting House Stage.
A big thanks as always to the volunteers that work so very hard to make The Meeting House Stage a success: Karla MacLeod, Elisa Benincaso, Ken Raymond, and Al Lefebvre. In June, food was provided by Karla MacLeod, Dave Lister, Elisa Benincaso, Sally Poikonen, Amy Raymond, Jan Miller, Judy Kierce, John Papp, Roberta LeTourneau, and Craig Hoyt.
July’s Meeting House Stage will be held outdoors behind the Rindge Historical Society Museum (24 School Street) at 1pm on Saturday, July 9.
